| - In all soberness, moving to spectra has been one of the most regretted decisions I have ever made in my life. I paid at least but usually over $100 every month in extraneous charges that would be automatically covered by other apartment complexes. The community music in the pool area was very loud and kept me awake at night. I called the apartment staff and nothing was done. Fees everywhere... $50 to add my new wife onto the lease, $25 mandatory charge for a person to take garbage off your doorstep on top of a monthly water sewage trash charge, NO parking anywhere for guests or any other cars you might have, it's always full. Maintenance was slow to fix issues.
Probably the worst of any of this is we left the place move in ready (better than it was when I moved in) when we left, but a very large portion was removed from our security deposit without any documented reason why (violation of state law) and returned past the window state law allows. I sent them correspondence via certified mail citing the laws broken and discussing a lawsuit if this wasn't taken care of. They never responded. I filed a lawsuit and they settled immediately.
Again, I cannot stress enough, this has been the worst place I have ever lived. The management is a nightmare to deal with, the charges are never ending, the location has no parking. I moved out as soon as I was able and i could not be happier. I moved into a two bedroom two bathroom that was much larger and had parking, and after all of Spectra's hidden fees, turned out to be cheaper than the one bed one bath that I had.
