| - I made an appointment for recertification, as this is where I had gotten the original card. Both times, between the paperwork and the waiting, I was there for about 2 hours, so don't bother with an appointment, it won't be any quicker. The people are all very nice and helpful, my beef is about the cost and it's misrepresentation.
There was an ad in The New Times trumpeting certification for $75 "No Hidden Fees", so when I went to pay I was shocked at a bill of $300.
Ted, (?) who handled picture taking and fee collecting, reminded me that $150 goes to the Government. I knew that was true, but I brought my medical records and didn't need to see the "pain doctor", so how did we get from a $75 charge listed in the paper, up to $150? I asked. He went into a song and dance about how the money was for processing and did I have my coupon from the paper? In order to get a $25 dollar deduction I was told that I needed to have a coupon from the New Times, when I told him that the ad didn't say that you needed to bring it in, he said well, you do...he was 'nice' enough to tell me that they had the paper two doors down. So, I went through the embarrassment of going into The Two Hippies burrito place to scrounge for a paper. The price for The Precision Medical groups part was $125, not $75 as advertised.
