I took my vacuum in for repair and was told it would cost no more than $35 to repair it. Several days later I get a call saying that it's possible that the piece that was needed to fix my vacuum would not be found due to it's discontinuation and I can trade it in for another vacuum in their shop. I traded my vacuum in and paid $40 for a used vacuum and was told I had a 1 year warranty on it.
Needless to say...the used vacuum I purchased from them broke within 2 weeks and then he calls me saying that he was able to locate the piece to my old vacuum and offered my old vacuum back to me for $35. WHAT? So I took the POS that I bought used from them back and he completely ignores me when I say that he stated I had a 1 year warranty on it. I asked to give it back and take my old one in return. Nope. He still charged me $25 for my old vacuum WITH the trade of the vacuum I had just purchased from them. So in the end I came out of pocket $65...$30 more than I expected. I'm wondering if they do this often...tell people they can't locate a piece to your vacuum and offer to trade it in and pay for a used one and then come back and tell you "hey I fixed it after all...want it back for $35". Then he tries to convince me that I need 2 vacuums so I should have the one that he just sold me repaired with them for approximately another $35. Makes no sense.
I say that if you're going to deal with them get your promises in writing. My old vacuum is now making a noise after only 2 uses after buying it back from them. By the way, their store is cramped to where only 2 people fit in the front and it SMELLS like cigarette smoke and dust everywhere. For being a Kirby shop I would expect they would have at least the carpet clean...they are in fact selling and repairing vacuums!
