  • My bf and I went to bouchon with high expectations. This dinner was supposed to be our amazing dinner for the weekend. Amazing it was not. First off, our appetizers took 20 minutes to come out. I loaded up on bread and pistachios waiting patiently. Once our food arrives, our waitress comes over and apologizes about the long wait and let's us know that she was aware of the issue and informed the manager. The manager then comes over asking us if everything is ok but not mentioning the wait time on the apps. The food: We ordered the bone marrow, the bacon salad, the foie gras, and the leg of lamb. The bone marrow was delicious! It was so delicate and flavorful. Once I incorporated all the components in the bite (marrow, roasted garlic and the sauce) everything made sense and it was great! Very rich though... Should share with someone. The bacon salad was my bf's app and he says it wasn't anything special and too greasy. I had the seared foie as my entree and it was good. I found it under-seasoned and the sauce too sweet. It was seared perfectly though and I don't regret ordering it, I just think it could've been better with a little salt. My bf had the leg of lamb and was utterly disappointed. The potatoes that came with it were horrible, they tasted as it they went bad and they were trying to "save" them by covering them up with sauce. The lamb itself was under whelming and he kept saying, I should've gotten the steak. The dessert: We originally didn't order dessert, I was full from my very rich meal and my boyfriend was so disappointed with the lamb that he didn't want anything else. But on a just note, we were given the dessert specials complimentary because of our long waiting for the apps. That did help with my bf's opinion. We were given the creme brûlée and the profiteroles. The profiteroles were covered with chocolate sauce and my bf loved it. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate so I had a bite and that was it. The creme brûlée was classically done to perfection and I enjoyed what I could eat of it because I wAs so stuffed. All I'm all... I think the vegas high end restaurants are catered to appeal to the masses and have usually disappointed me. Coming for Los Angeles, I'm admittedly snobbish about food and I would rather take my money back to LA and have a meal worth $200 there.
