| - The boyfriend and I had a really nice time at Red Rock Jan 25th through Jan 27th.
We were there for a law colloquium so we didn't get to choose our hotel, the conference chose and they chose well. I found all staff throughout the hotel, from the front desk and concierge to the staff in the restaurants and spa to be generally very friendly and helpful (the only exception being the staff inside the spa in charge of clean up, they seemed upset to be cleaning towels, I would be too).
This place is huge, lots of restaurants, many open 24 hours, food court, bowling alley, movie theater, spa, and a casino of course. You don't really even have to leave. It was fun living in a nonstop community where someone is always drinking and gambling.
Our room was really nice, 17th floor, clean, well decorated in browns and greens with very comfortable bed. Great bathroom with nice water pressure in the shower. All around upscale, clean and nice. I felt very comfortable in our room. We had a GORGEOUS view of the mountains. Lots of huge slabs of stones all around the hotel and huge sparkly chandeliers.
Please note Red Rock is about 30 minutes from the strip. If you want to party all night long along the strip and stumble back to your hotel, Red Rock is not for you. I am personally not a partier or a gambler so I really liked being separated from that sort of crazy night life. Staying at Red Rock provides you with the most beautiful views of mountains you will not get staying on the strip. There is an extremely convenient shuttle that runs to the strip so you can party during the day or during the night. The first shuttle runs at 11:10AM and the last pick up is 9:40 (I think) so if you want to party late I think you would have to take a cab back to the hotel. You can put in a reservation for the shuttle to take you to the strip no earlier than 30 minutes prior to departure and they give you a ticket - you want to do this to secure your seat. You get dropped off at the Fashion Show Mall and they pick you up in the exact same spot, which you don't need a reservation for, just show up at the pick up spot for your ride back to the hotel. The shuttle really couldn't be easier or more convenient. They also have a shuttle to and from the airport but we did not use it.
The casino is big, lots of restaurant options radiating out from it for dinner. Lucky Bar in the middle is a nice spot to relax and grab a drink. Hachi, the sushi restaurant in side, was excellent! Highly recommend if you want to eat freaking incredible fresh fish.
Red Rock is really just a great self contained community of booze, food, gambling and fun. If you aren't someone who HAS to stay on the strip 24/7 or someone who really would prefer not to then I highly recommend Red Rock. If I ever go back to Vegas I would most definitely stay here again.
