| - AN ABSOLUTE MUST IF YOU ARE IN LAS VEGAS.
I visited Vegas for 3 days and this was undoubtedly my favorite part of the trip. When I had the chance to go to Las Vegas, my date and I looked up many places where we could rent exotic cars. We picked dream racing over the others after seeing everything they include in their experience. It's not just a car rental, you actually get to push these cars on a real track with no speed limit. We decided on the combo package with the Ferrari 458 GT and the Lamborghini Huracan Trofeo GT. We each also got 3 discovery laps in the Porsche Cayman GT. I was excited and dream racing far exceeded my expectations.
We were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff and went to the main building to watch a short instructional video. Afterward, we went to the simulation room to practice. The model cockpits and screens were pretty high tech and the simulation was created by scanning the real track so the scale is completely accurate. We met Frankie, a previous formula 1 race car driver who was our instructor for the day. We got some pictures with the cars and then got started. The staff was kind and helpful, always coming to find me to get my helmet on when my turn came up (I was preoccupied taking to people, taking pictures, and taking video of my date driving.
The Cayman was sleek and powerful, I'm really REALLY glad we got the discovery laps. You have to drive completely differently in the GT cars and it takes some getting used to. The paddle shifters weren't nearly as difficult to get used to as I thought they'd be.
The Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Trofeo are completely different from the Porsche and from each other. The cars were progressively more difficult to control and more challenging to drive, but it was the greatest thrill of my life. I was so grateful for Frankie's expertise because i was going so fast I didn't really feel like I could see the road coming up. I think he could have been more emphatic about just how hard you should be stomping the gas and break, but I eventually got it and that helped improve my speed and lap time. Finally on the last few laps of each car, I felt a bit more aware and control and could modify what I was doing to improve my speed and performance. It's addictive and exhilarating. I drove off the track a few times but Frankie just directed me back to the lane and we kept going. When the session ended my face hurt from smiling and my heart was racing. It was the perfect amount for a first round and I can't wait for the next time I can get it and race those cars. We got the photos which came out very well and we got the videos. The Ferrari video came with telemetry data which was very interesting! The staff was wonderful and I wish we could have talked for longer but the shuttle had to leave. I can't wait to go back and am planning to take another trip at the very next opportunity. Everyone should try this!! There were other ladies who came out in our group but they didn't drive and I'm not sure why. Ladies, this isn't just a guy's clubhouse, it's incredibly fun and the instructors do a great job of coaching you so you can fully enjoy commanding these powerful cars. If you ever get the chance, go for it! Dream racing is a rare opportunity to drive amazing cars, there's no where else like it in the world.
