This has to be a joke. Went to the ER as recommended by urgent care when we called. My daughter fell and lacerated her head. We waited 2 hrs to see dr (apparently we came in at shift change), despite that there was only 1 other patient in the waiting room & zero cars out front, in order for MD to come in, belittle us by saying she could staple or not - "no difference either way" and when we asked questions, she just rolled her eyes and shrugged. Btw, her pupils were huge in a brightly-lit room, so I'm not sure what she was on, but she made it made it very apparent she could not care less about us or our child. We made the decision not to staple as the bleeding had stopped by now & our daughter was obviously acting appropriate. All of this - to wait hours & be dismissed by an apathetic doc who did not even touch our child (the dr who was leaving his shift did the assessment) and just received a bill for $1200!! Yes, the total (after insurance) was twelve hundred dollars. We've tried to reach billing with no luck & no returned calls. We called the urgent care thinking at least they answer the phone. The person we spoke to stated, "Well, give em hell because I've heard lots of stories like yours." This is beyond frustrating for our family.
