| - TL;DR This place is well worth visiting if you are in Las Vegas. Lots of complaints about the table near the bathroom so if you can, ask for a table elsewhere. Sea scallop and free range chicken are bomb. I would recommend and come back to this place when in Las Vegas.
This place did not disappoint. I was surprised that the place was not packed with the food was above average. This review has been sitting in my drafts for awhile now. I have been to tons of places in LV that are packed, but the food taste like garbage diving soup. Enough with my bad experiences in LV, lets talk Honey Salt.
The ambiance was great. It had a rustic, hipster feel to it. Love the decor overall and the mirrors were unique. You can feel the character the mirrors had on the wall. Every place has to have it's own style, and I feel like the mirrors were it. It is all the small details that matter the most and this place has it. The bathroom was decorated nicely and was very cool. I feel like you wouldn't like it if you don't like places with personality. The salt scrub was a very nice touch and goes that extra mile you never expected.
I have been told constantly that restaurants serve stale bread to enhance the taste of the food coming out. Honestly it just ruins my appetite. Usually shitty bread comes with shitty food. Instead of bread, we got chips and boy were they fresh. Still hot out of the oven, crispy, and flaky. With their homemade honey butter, OMG it is almost to die for. The butter was amazing. With a starter like that, I couldn't wait to get my food. Just writing this review is making me drool.
Calamari was great. Probably one of the best places in Las Vegas to get calamari. My review probably will do no justice for it so you should just try it yourself. I think it might be the bread they use, but it just has that crisp you rarely find even at fancy restaurants. Crisp is key.
I think the best test of a restaurant are their scallops. The sea scallops here were great. I am tired of going to places where the scallops is never fresh (in California. We live next to the ocean FFS). The sauce is superb. The scallops alone are only half the battle, everything else depends on the sauce and it was spot on for me.The subtle vanilla fragrance enhanced my dining experience for sure. I wish it was a little more caramelized, but to all their own.
I only tried some, but the other main dish that was amazing was the free range chicken. It was absolutely succulent. In combination with the crispy skin it was a great compliment of flavors with a contrast of textures in my mouth. Honestly the chicken alone does no justice so be sure to portion out the skin with the chicken. Some people like crunchy chicken, but I like my skin crisp and boy was it crisp. It's not soul food, but it was some good chicken.
Anyways this review is getting pretty long so I will just end it here. Try it out.
