This review is being written after nearly a year of service with Maid Brigade, and details the decline in service this company is now offering to its customers.
The reason I will no longer use Maid Brigade? I returned home and my front door was OPEN.
This type of negligence is completely unacceptable. I trusted Maid Brigade in my home. My door doesn't even need to be LOCKED (it automatically locks), it just needs to be CLOSED. How the team failed to close my front door is beyond me. This is a completely unacceptable breach of security and the trust I place in the team.
Besides recently sending more reminders about the team's work and asking questions repeatedly about what is being used to clean my now cracked granite (about which I still have yet to receive a response), I now have to deal with a lack of security if I want to continue using Maid Brigade.
Let me clarify that I actually have a really simple house: Less than 10 items of furniture at all, and there are few walls so it's really just a vacuum everything, wipe down all surfaces, and take out the trash. I don't ask them to do any extras besides sweeping my balcony.
Here is some detail regarding my months of service with Maid Brigade:
Jan 2013: had to remind them to clean my balcony
February 2013: no issues with cleaning - great job
March 2013: no issues with cleaning - great job
April 2013: no issues with cleaning - great job
May 2013: no issues with cleaning - great job
June 2013: no issues with cleaning - great job
July 2013: service quality varied widely.

team read packing/travel notes I made for myself on my counter and somehow confused them with cleaning notes - had to clarify

reminded team to clean balcony
August 2013:
came home to crack in kitchen granite - sent question - no response
asked again about crack in granite - no response
told team all of a sudden didn't have a key
September 2013
asked team not to stack dishes after I return home to a broken mug

We contacted Maid Brigade because we value the time taken by someone else to assist us with maintaining a clean home. We pay Maid Brigade more than any other company we have used because we thought the work was of higher quality. The decline in quality and now the inattention to basic safety makes us question what is going on with the company as a whole.
I expect Maid Brigade to operate to the high standards it advertises.
It is extremely disappointing that I have to go through the process of vetting a new company with questionable quality because Maid Brigade is no longer operating at the standard that we have come to expect and has in fact fallen below basic expectations in housekeeping service.
