| - I didn't come to EaglesMed as a random new patient... I came because my family doctor moved here from another clinic.
That being said, I was already happy with the level of care I was receiving from my Dr., so I moved with her.
That leaves the clinic intangibles to judge at the new location: things such as wait times, staff, environment, and so on.
And this one IS different.
The first, rather noticeable difference, is that there is a corporate, "for profit" vibe here. Within the restrictions of our health act, that is.
That is to say, an "annual membership" of sorts was offered to me by the clinic, which apparently gives appointment priorities vs. non-members; no-charge paperwork such as Dr. notes, and so on.
This membership seemed rather pricy to me (I think it was $130+ per person, per year).
For the paperwork it covered, I'd rather just pay as required. Really, when was the last time I needed a document from my Dr.? Maybe a decade ago?
Booking priority might be worth it to some, if chronic conditions make you a frequent visitor.
I also believe, that the membership enables online or phone app appointment bookings, which would be convenient as well.
But it also has the potential of separating the "have's" and "have nots," in terms of getting an appointment, if this clinic someday gets really busy. Even though I can afford to pay it, I'm not really ok with people not being able to, and coming second.
Anyhow, beyond that, the level of service so far has been fine. The waiting room is modern, and includes large screen TV's streaming news and clinic updates. The staff are standard for my expectations in a medical clinic.
My Dr (as opposed to previous Dr's I have seen) has never
rushed me through an appointment. I have never had the sense she is a volume producer.
She has taken the time to walk through anything, with options, and is open to alternative strategies.
