| - Frozen yogurt places seem to have invaded Toronto in great numbers, and Yogurt Spoon happens to be right near me so I thought I'd check it out. Turns out that this is a great place for a refreshing treat. They work on a pay-by-weight self serve system, allowing you to choose and mix any of the available flavours (of which there are ten to choose from, and you can really come up with some cool combinations!) and toppings (including chocolate, fresh fruit, candy, cereals, "popping balls," even mochi balls...) until you're satisfied at a rate of 45 cents per ounce. You don't have to spend a lot to get a decent-sized bowl. The yogurt is not too sweet, and the flavours are really natural-tasting.
Just as a tip to those who have dairy restrictions: there are two available dairy-free selections, which are just as tasty as the traditional yogurt and seem to gravitate toward vivid fruit flavours.
The staff are friendly and eager to explain the process to new customers, and the digs are bright, modern and inviting (a strong contrast to many of the shuttered or dingier places on the Yonge strip.) I walk by it all the time and it always seems to be drawing a crowd. They have also introduced a stamp card program for frequent buyers.
