  • We had a strange occurrence happen with our door repair. To begin, our garage door would not close all the way today so I just went ahead and called the number on the Anytime Garage Door stickers all through out my garage from the builder. I only half noticed that the gentleman on the phone said Sun City when he answered. Anyway, I called around 12:30p and set up an appt for sometime between 2-5pm the same day. While I was waiting I decided to check the reviews for Anytime Garage Doors and found they were atrocious. I then saw that a place called Driekosen (might have spelled it wrong) that had great reviews. I called Anytime to cancel my appt and then called Driekosen to set up an appt and I got the same timeframe of today between 2-5pm So I am sitting in my garage waiting for someone to show up and a truck pulls up. He introduced himself as Frank and I thought he must be new because I didn't see a Frank listed in any of Driekisen customer reviews. He proceeds to look at the door and determines the wiring to the sensors might be the problem since the sensors kept flashing. He said he could fix it for $65 total (which might have been the cost of the service visit, I never did ask for a quote on the service visit). He replaced the wiring and had me try the door. It worked! I was happy. Then he had to go to the truck for something and I saw his shirt said Sun City. I was like, "oh crap." I asked him if he was from Anytime or Driekosen and he said he was not from either of those, but from Sun City. Then I remembered that was what the first guy I called said. Double crap. I told him what happened and said I had cancelled his appt, but now it was all done so I quickly called Driekosen to cancel that appt. Long story short, I was not happy that a tech still showed up when I had cancelled the appt (hence the four stars versus five stars), but Frank was really nice and ultimately fixed the problem for a reasonable amount. Frank said that Sun City wasn't Anytime and that they just bought old phone numbers of garage companies that went out of business since so many homes had the stickers with the phone number in their garages from the builders. Which is a really good way to get business if I am honest about it. So ultimately I am confused. I will probably call the other company in the future, but Sun City would be a very good second company to keep in my back pocket if needed.
