  • An incredibly racist experience that I'm sad I subjected my family to. Went to it with high hopes on Friday night upon arriving in Vegas and ended up simply being prodded as the token Asians in the room. A barrage of insults regarding an inability to speak English and constant marginalization of a people was unleashed, without a regard to even my poor grandmother that ended up coming to the show with us. From the very beginning, my mother decided to stand up and commemorate our trip (which happens on a very infrequent basis as some family hails from other parts of the state) with photos. She momentarily stood in the way of a group that was being escorted to their seats and DD very audibly said "they're simply reinforcing stereotypes...," referring to my mother who was standing up and taking a photo of us all. From there, the racism did not end as they picked on the fact that we were Asian time and time again. An incredibly uncomfortable experience -- I'd recommend thinking twice about bringing your family here.
