The food is really very good. Always fresh and interesting. My favorite thing is the gazpacho.
Today, I went for lunch with a largish group of people. Even though the dining area isn't that big, we were all accommodated nicely. They even split up the tab for us! (there were 9 of us) I love that they have really tasty vegan fare which in this city can be hard to come by.
Here are my issues. Although the owners/servers are nice, the service can be really really bad. I'm not a pessimist, but why would a waiter only fill up a glass of water halfway? Also to describe the non-vegan special today, our waitress said "oh, you know, it's like fish and rice and tomato sauce" appetizing.... I prefer my servers to have social skills.
BUT I still recommend going here. The food is good, and it is a locally owned establishment. I can't wait to come back and visit Phoenix when the Grand Ave area really explodes.
