Walk in and be transported to a mom and pop looking diner from the 1970s (based on the furniture and decor)! We went for breakfast. The food was good, but nothing really stood out as great. They offer cooked grits on the menu. I give them kudos for that as it is not a standard on breakfast menus in this city. But the grits were not to my satisfaction even after adding salt and butter/margarine (I think they gave me a side of margarine; it didn't taste like butter). There was one lady working the entire restaurant and there were about a dozen different tables to attend to. Despite that, she worked frantically to keep up the pace. She did great. I just hope that's not the norm for her sake. She brings a silver tray of small plastic cups containing different samples of their jelly and jams. The tray is kept in a refrigerated cooler by the register. They sell their brand of jellies and jams from what I saw on a shelf, again, by the register. It's a quaint breakfast joint and a nice alternative to a franchise breakfast restaurant. Note: As we were getting ready to leave, I noticed a lot of dust and dirt build up on the ceiling fan blades, the a/c filter return register inlet as well as the a/c outlet registers. Hoping that's not the norm. In the women's bathroom there is also some visual signs of wear that could do with some attention. It reminded me of visiting a Grandparent's house. Meaning that the decor is dated, there is visible signs of wear on the building, but there is a sense of calmness and warmth from the people inside, and the food is good.
