| - Visited this place for the first time last night...happy hour date night for my husband and I. Took a stroll around the place to check it all out, Luci's, the ice cream shop and the outside area before settling in at Pomelo. First person we were greeted by, a server setting up the patio tables, she was very friendly and welcoming.
We sat at the bar, the place was not too crowded, which was surprising for a Friday night...but it was only 5:00 when we arrived. Bartender was quick to take our order, and deliver....again very friendly and anxious to take care of us. Drinks were delicious - I had a bellisimo and my husband had a sculpin beer (guess you can't really do anything to that but pour, so let's say drink was delicious). Ordered a couple of appetizers (happy hour $$) the wood roasted olives -yum! and the calamari both were very good....we followed up by ordering dinners - I had the beet salad and it was HUGE, enough for two, my husband had a customized pizza which he said was fantastic.....so great place, great service will definitely be back!!!
UPDATE: We visited this place last night, and it's amazing how ONE person can change your opinion of a place. We had a great bartender, she quickly took care of us with water and taking our drink order (sat at the bar). As we sat there and observed the happenings....one of the bartenders (not ours) got into a somewhat heated discussion with another customer across the bar (something about the bill, to the point that the bartender, very sternly said "I've taken one wine off, OK?")strike one, then the same bartender was upset about there being no "F'n Lemons" loud enough so that I could hear him, (strike two), really that upsets you so much that you demonstrate that in front of customers? then he said something to our bartender about how long she'd been there...next thing we know she's clocking out. By this time we had already asked for our bill which she promptly brought, but left prior to our credit card being processed...so we waited, and waited, and waited.... I tried to get the attention of "mr friendly bartender"..he was waiting on another customer and said "yeah, hold on"...OK...I've been waiting longer to close out my tab then I did to get my drink (strike THREE). YOU know if you don't like to deal with customers, or are having a shitty day...STAY HOME don't make the rest of us suffer your pissy poor attitude. Next visit, if Mr Sunshine is still bartending, we're going to turn right around and leave...
