Do not send your loved ones to this facility!! My grandma was found unresponsive back in February. She was admitted to Spring Valley hospital where she received great care. She was in a coma and and was placed on a ventilator for a month before she was transferred to the Kindred on Sahara. I can't say that they were great there, but they were able to wean her off the ventilator, so she was breathing on her own.
After they weaned her, they couldn't keep her at that location and that was when she was transferred to the Kindred on flamingo. There was absolutely no care or compassion at this hospital. My grandma was 80 years old and in a coma, so they had written her off as a lost cause. It was complete negligence. Severe bedsores had formed all over her body and when the staff was asked about it, they said that sometimes bedsores just form, which isn't true. She wasn't being moved to keep the sores from forming, she wasn't being bathed, and whenever a doctor came in they continuously hinted at just letting her die. They had horrible bedside manor. A few weeks ago she started opening her eyes on her own and was even responding to pain. There were no signs of her health declining, but unfortunately she passed yesterday morning. The doctor called my mom and told her the news. He told her that she just stopped breathing and went on to ask if she had made funeral arrangements yet. She told him no and he said that he was going to call her back. He never did, but 6 hours later she did get a phone call from a funeral home saying that they had my grandmas body. Kindred didn't even have the decency to let us know where they were sending her body.
Please do not send your loved one here.
