I was really surprised to see so many not-so-great reviews of this place. My fiance and I have eaten there twice and both times we loved it. When I told him there were some "meh" reviews about it on here he was like, "wtf??"
Anyway, first of all the service was great. I don't know the name of the waiter but we had him both times we were there. We asked his suggestion for a dry white wine and he brought out this killer Sicilian wine that blew our socks off. When we went back the second time a few months later, we were excited to have that wine again but they didn't have it so he brought us another one he thought we'd like and sure enough, it was even better than the first.
Even though the place was jam packed and we didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night, we didn't have to wait long for a table on the piazza. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for about 10 minutes.
Both times we had the pear salad with arugula, blue cheese, grapes, and pomegranate dressing. So. Good.
We had the Caprese salad as an appetizer. It was good but I was a little disappointed they didn't use buffalo mozzarella. A real Italian restaurant should always use buffalo mozzarella! So that's the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.
Both times I was there I had the giant prawns alla Busara with spaghetti. The dish was so good that I had to order it again. The flavor in that sauce is truly awesome. It had the kind of flavor that I've really only had in pasta dishes in Italy. American pasta dishes are usually bland. They used just the right balance of all the spices and flavors.
My fiance ordered the seafood pasta that was on special that night and enjoyed it very much. I didn't try it so can't comment. On our first visit he had the canneloni stuffed with chicken and we both thought it was very good. The sauce was really flavorful.
We plan to go back every time we're in Vegas. Next time I'm going to have to try the pizza because you can't judge an Italian restaurant fully without trying the pizza. The pizzas we saw on other tables looked delicious, though.
