After doing a lot of research, talking to several roofers and getting three written bids, I decided to go with Stell roofing and their recommendation for a "torch-down roof" as opposed to a foam roof. It wasn't a hard sell - we had gotten a recommendation for this type of roof from a trusted repairman who had been doing patches on our roof for years, but now was the time to get a totally new roof. Talking through things with Mike Stell made the decision even easier. He clearly explained everything involved and offered what I felt was a very fair price.
On the scheduled day, Junior showed up right on time with the work crew. They were very efficient and worked tirelessly throughout the 1 1/2 days it took to complete the job, exactly as estimated. All compromised subsurface wood and fascia was replaced after getting my permission. Junior kept me updated throughout the process and sent me photos of all they were doing.
I couldn't be more pleased with the end result. The roof looks great and they did a thorough cleanup of my house. It was difficult to tell they had even been there . . . I found only a single wayward nail on the ground that they missed. It's quite evident as to why they get so many good reviews; they've earned every one of them. I knew when I signed the contract that I was buying expertise much more than just roofing materials and they do seem to be the experts.
This is not a fun way to spend a whole lot of money, but Stell roofing made the process as painless as possible. I'll hold back one final comment, as I'm waiting for the first hard rain of our coming "monsoon" season and hope that the new roof is a weather tight as it looks. I'm counting on not having to make use of their guarantee!
