| - I'm going to say this, and I don't take this lightly, but Val is literally the best tattoo-er I've been to!
To start, her place is a little complicated to find if you don't know what you're looking for. When you reach the building, use the elevator to the second floor and her space will be in part of a building that is a salon. The suite numbers are INSIDE of this bigger complex and hers is 206 in the back left of it. It is a tiny place in itself, but it's very cozy and the atmosphere is friendly! She has a variety of pictures of her wall, some of which were done by her, and they are very nice to look at.
She has a minimum of 100$ shop price (unless she's running a monthly special), which is decent because of how she draws and colors your tattoo. Now that's where the fun part begins!
You can tell her what you want. You can make it a vague idea and she'll ask you questions (boy or girl, what colors, cartoony or realistic), or you can come in with your own idea complete with details and she'll work her magic in her style!
I wanted a penguin reading a book that was originally supposed black and grey. She said for the size I wanted, she does color for free which pleasantly surprised me. I let her have full creative control of colors because I knew she'd know what would look good.
Onto actually tattooing, I noticed that she washed her hands several times, got clean needles, and gloves. She even used a face mask which I had never seen and thought was above and beyond professional.
Just as everyone said she was very friendly, sweet and personable (and beautiful!) which made it comfortable to sit there for the hour or two that you'd be there for. She answers questions that you have and is very experienced.
Val listened to me as I blabbed on and on about my entire life story, which, while it wasn't necessary, the fact she was listening and willing to listen made the experience better; she was also willing to talk about her own experiences which made me feel better about blabbing so much.
Overall, I'd come back to her for more work. So talented, lovely, and kind!
