| - For our last meal on this initial trip to Calgary, we taxied over to Kensington to Modern Steak. On entering, I was very surprised with the design and decor of Modern Steak. It seemed more Las Vegas than Calgary, and I walked downstairs with some trepidation. However, after one look at that fantastic menu and all its sumptuous offerings, I was willing to ignore the glitz and glam of the room. (I hate Las Vegas and its ersatz bling)
Our waiter Goerge guided us through the extensive menu, and we settled on Caesar Salad, two steaks, Parmesan fries, lobster mac and cheese, and a baked potato the size of Shaquille's left foot. Service was warm and professional, and the manager Johnny stopped by often to make sure we were happy. I saw Johnny tending to the care of all the patrons this evening. That's great restaurant management.
To end the evening we ordered Baked Alaska for dessert, indulgent and classically delicious. Ooh la la. What a meal! We staggered upstairs, so full that I couldn't even go out for a nightcap. I slept well.
