I called this place to have my windshield repaired because it got hit by a rock on the freeway and had a big crack going across the drivers side view. From the initial contact, I spoke to a young lady named Rachel, she was very nice and customer service oriented. She scheduled me for a few days later and had a tech by the name of Gary come out. He was very nice and we spoke about cars together after he saw the cars I'm building sitting in my driveway. We spoke for a little while, while he was working and he told me that he wouldn't be able to do it that day because of the type of mouldings that were on the windshield. He contacted Rachel who said that they would have to order the mouldings to complete the installation and reschedule for another day. I waited a few days and she contacted me and said that Volvo ordered the wrong parts and asked me to send her pics of my windshield to her cell phone. I did as she asked but never heard back from her of any updates. I was expecting to at least hear that she received the pictures in a text back but never did. So I tried calling the office and realized it was after hours so I contacted them through Facebook and the owner explained what was going on to me. He said they will contact me shortly. It was already going on two weeks. I then waited a few days and never heard anything back again so I messaged them through Facebook again and stated that I haven't heard any updates and would like to know what's going on. He immediately became angry and said we can cancel the order if that's the case and was using exclamation points after every message as if he was yelling or frustrated with me. No apologies or anything. I remember thinking to myself like, "Wow this is the owner's customers service?" So I then told him it's just been a long time with no updates and I just want to know what's going on. He then told me he can tell the rep I canceled on Monday with some more exclamation points. I then told him it depends on how much longer it's going to be and that the way he's yelling at me isn't customer service oriented at all. He then replied by telling me, "If you think someone is yelling at you then let's not go forward....Safelite can do the job." I was so surprised but I mean I already should have known because he obvously has no customer service skills or knows how to talk to his customers. I then just told him to cancel the whole thing. Then the next day I called the rep to let her know I had canceled and also let her know that her customer service was excellent but it was the owner who persuaded me to change my mind. He was very rude and I choose not to do business with a company that has an owner handling things in this matter. She was apologetic and said that she was sorry about the whole situation and then proceeded to tell me that my type of windshield is going to have to problems finding and some other information but I talked to another company since then and that ended up not being the case.
I understand sometimes things happen but the owner especially should have been more apologetic and explained what was going on instead of immediately telling me to go to another company. It's like he acted as if I'm going to be missing out on something when that was not the case at all. I am currently having another company do the job now and so far they have had excellent service and once they finish I will write a review of my experience with them after, whether it's positive or negative. I just could not believe that the owner of all people would have the nerve to speak to me in this manner and what kind of owner tells someone to go to another company? I will never do business with this company and will be sharing this review on my blogs as well.
