  • Should Have Medical Licenses Revoked! Don't be fooled by this glitzy and pristine doctors office. Impressions Dental has all the state of the art technology and amenities that dazzle any incoming new patient...but patients beware! This is 100% meant to distract you while the office staff and doctors con you into expensive procedures that are not necessarily needed or even medically accurate. I went to Impressions Dental for a chipped tooth. I had hope to receive a routine cleaning and a filling. Upon arriving at there offices, they took me for a tour of all the amenities and services before my examination. Then the hygienist began checking my gums for a deep scale evaluation. I'm 29 and have been very meticulous about dental care and fluoride treatments growing up. I knew that they were trying to sell me a cleaning I truly didn't need. I could look past that, it was when they did the x-rays I had a knot in my stomach. I was told I had 7 cavities and would need 1 root canal if not 2 root canals right away and they made it sound like I was inches away from having all my teeth fall from my skull if I didn't get this deep scale cleaning. Then the doctor mentioned that when I go to the Endodontist for the root canal I should have him look at the other tooth to see if I needed the 2nd root canal. But he was pretty sure that both were a must fix. So, I met with the financial consultant to work out how much this would all cost. I made it clear I was only interested in taking care of one root canal right away. She was a fast talker but told me that the root canal would be handled by the Endodontist they worked with and the cap would be done by Impressions Dental. I was fine with this but it seemed to me that the whole procedure would not be covered by insurance. I must have asked a dozen times if this was fully covered by my insurance. I even ask my Mom (who was in the waiting room) to come in and make sure that this all seemed correct. She also told my mother everything regarding the cap would be 100% covered by insurance. Well, I'm sure you have guessed by now that it wasn't until after the procedure the next day did they say I owed them 500 dollars. I was in shock. We asked to speak with the Doctor who tried to explain away the mistake as a miscommunication and that "he doesn't deal with the financial stuff." I called him out, who wants to go to a practice where the doctor is clueless about how his office obtains insurance money or charges its patients? It's careless and irresponsible not only as a doctor but a business owner. All he could say was that this mistake was not his responsibility and that mistakes like that "never" happen. Well, apparently he doesn't know how to operate Google or Yelp because he clearly has not read any of the reviews where patients have also been through similar experiences at his office. Ask yourself; do you want someone with such little regard for how they conduct business working on your teeth? But it doesn't stop there... When we got to the Endodontist office for the root canal. He looked at my other tooth and said it was fine and had a minor cavity but it was nothing I needed to worry about for the immediate future. I asked if he was sure I didn't need a root canal and he replied "oh gosh no." This got me thinking; maybe I should get a second opinion on my other teeth. If Impressions Dental couldn't tell if I needed a root canal, even with all his state of the art technology, what else could they have been wrong about? Not to mention, after the root canal during the capping process, the doctor at Impressions Dental poked fun at me for having my mother present. I thought this was extremely rude. I wasn't about to tell the man with a drill in my mouth the only reason my mom was present was because I didn't trust his office or his medical recommendation and it was too late to turn back! I had just come from an Endodontist office that refuted nearly everything I was told 24 hours prior by Impressions Dental. Like hell was I going to sit in a chair and have him and his staff try to sell me the moon and stars in their orbits, while I was on pain medication from the previous procedure. I fully intend on taking my complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, BBB, as well as the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. Save yourself the grief and find an honest doctor, Impressions Dental is just another doctor pandering for cash instead of providing quality care to patients.
