Quite the brunch surprise for this omnivore! I was a little disappointed that when I called at opening they wouldn't let me make a same-day reservation, but I was assured that there were not many reservations for that time and we should be able to secure a table as a walk-in party (we did).
The restaurant is pretty small, and probably not well-suited to groups, but this gives the servers ample opportunity to connect with their tables. I ordered the vegan chorizo tacos, and my companion had the tempeh bacon and Indian-spiced eggs.
The tempeh bacon was tasty, with a nice smoke factor, but not really reminiscent of bacon--more like smoky french toast sticks. The vegan chorizo tacos were really tasty. The chorizo was closer to falafel, but the tacos were layered with a variety of textures that made them really interesting to eat. I tried a bite of the Indian-spiced eggs and they were good as well.
I can't speak to the other menu items, but I was impressed with the quality of the food as well as the service. I'd happily come back for brunch--it's a nice alternative to the sweet- and grease-laden brunches elsewhere in the city!
