| - Came down here based off recommendations from a couple of friends.
First, I'll start off with the service. It was give and take. Both guys up front were a little awkward, especially after offering some recommendations. Payment process was easy, and our food was brought to our table, which was nice.
Secondly, and most importantly: the food. I ordered a green tea with peach sweetener. The tea was very watered down and bitter. It didn't taste like it had any flavor: just tasted like water! After mulling over the menu after what seemed like forever, I made my choice, but was still unsure. I admire the quirky theme of this cafe, but the menu is all different styles and fonts: it's hard to read, so it's hard to make a decision. My OCD was going off from this one. Ultimately, I chose the rabbit habit sandwich with pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and lettuce. The sandwich was nice, but nothing special. I felt like I've had this sort of thing at many places, but there was no wow factor. Couldn't even stomach the whole sandwich.
Lastly, I'll leave this on a positive note about the atmosphere. This cafe is cute and quirky. People look like they're genuinely having fun. Seating is very sparse and close together, which is my only complaint about that.
Overall, Madhouse is just an average cafe. It has a very hipster vibe. But I was so outraged by the lack of anything that I left this place in a bad mood. When it comes down to it, I won't be coming back here.
