A little inside scoop - the owner, Chef John and the Sous Chef used to work at the Social House, but John decided to open up his own sushi restaurant and use the same vendors from the Social House. Though they're not conveniently located on the strip and the ambiance isn't as swanky, the prices are much lower and the portions are bigger.
I chose to have an omakase here on my birthday. The wait was a bit long. They have a fusion take on sushi, with many of the dishes infused with ponzu sauce and other non-traditional accompaniments. The price was very reasonable. Significantly less than my last omakase in San Franacisco. Better yet, you could to get an omakase a requested price. We skipped the cooked dishes and requested sushi only. The chefs were very accommodating and polite. Let them know what you're favorites are! There was some waiting time each dish, as the chefs were fulfilling orders and juggling our customized dishes. Understandable.
The place has a great local vibe..none of those pretentious people.
