  • This place is a favorite community hangout -- on pleasant summer evenings there are often big crowds outside. I want to love it since it's just a few blocks from where I live, but I can't. I'm disappointed every time I have their ice cream; it's just not very flavorful or creamy. It sounds harsh, but I think you can do just as well buying stuff out of the freezer case at Safeway. To put things in context, when my wife and I have ice cream cravings, we've taken to cramming our toddler into her car seat and driving ten minutes to Village Ice Cream downtown rather than just walking over to Amato...
