The bike shops especially individually owned in Pittsburgh are generally good. The Kraynick's Bike shop is one of the best in my opinion. Jerry the owner is honest, knowledgable and cool.
The first look at his shop was definitely not impressive, It's messy, old, and I spend some time to find where Jerry is behind tools... When Jerry look at my road bike, he does not only tell me where the problem was quickly and precisely, but also teach me how to fix it, allow me to use his tools, and answered all my questions. So of course I fixed it! (a sense of accomplishment which you do not always earn from other shops lol) When I insisted to change a new derairlliure and spend unnecessary money which I realized later, he joked "You really wanna spend some money, huh?" So eventually I left his shop free of charge. Humorous and nice guy I recommend you to go and find out.
