| - The Flower Child is successful at providing a museum of retro furniture and home furnishings. There are many rooms of clothing and accessories, thus making the inventory vast. However, I would consider myself a serious vintage clothing connoisseur and would have to say that the condition of many garments is very poor, especially in the face of being sold for higher prices than what it's worth. The inventory may be vast, but it's poorly curated and anything really goes.
Stains, tears, broken zippers and inseams, mold, musty smells, significant discolorations are prominent, and the prices tags read $50-$70. Many of the clothes have not been professionally cleaned prior to sale, and it all feels like it's coming straight from a moldy box in the attic or a flea market.
Also, some of the dresses were not vintage. Buyer beware. I recognized a 2007 bridesmaids dress from David's Bridal in the racks, because it was the same one I wore at that point in time. Also, there was an overabundance of 1980s attire, and the other decades felt unrepresented.
For excellent vintage clothing with quality and uniqueness, I recommend the drive to Royal Oak, MI to Lost and Found Vintage.
