  • I went to the Penguin last Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend and his cousin who was visiting Charlotte. We were very excited to take our out of town guest to the penguin as he had seen it in the Movie Bad Grandpa. We have been there many times and enjoyed both the service and the food. Our server was Tiffany, I only know this because I heard another server say her name. She did not introduce herself and she clearly did not want to be there. It was not busy and there were two servers. I wish we had gotten the nice blonde girl who was working as she appeared to be doing both her job and Tiffany's job. When our server finally came to the table we ordered drinks and an appetizer. She seemed annoyed that we weren't ready to place our full order. After the appetizer finally came out we ate it and then sat there for at least 20-25 min with empty drinks. Another table of Tiffany's asked the blonde server if they could get refills as they had been sitting there with empty drinks too. When the other server told Tiffany they needed refills Tiffany's response was "can you get them?". Tiffany was sitting there refilling windex bottles while the poor blonde girl was taking care of all the tables. Tiffany then walked by our table it appeared she was going to clean the bathrooms. She avoided eye contact with us so that she wouldn't have to refill our drinks. I then made a noise sucking melted ice out of my cup and still she didn't look over. I was in awe that a server could be so blatantly rude. She had the worst attitude of any server I have ever seen. We ended up paying the blonde girl for the appetizer and drinks and leaving without getting our entrĂ©es. Being in the service industry myself I am usually very understanding if a server is in the weeds or having a bad day but she was just blatantly rude. We ended up going to the diamond were we received great service and tipped generously. If we ever go back which is doubtful after this experience I will turn around and walk out if she is there.
