Come on.
Negatives:
1) They use margarine, probably to cut costs. I would give negative stars for this, if it were possible. Disgraceful.
2) They don't boil their bagels before baking them. Boiling before baking is what gives you the outer shell and soft, doughy inside. These bagels are just doughy. And a rather bland flavor, as well. You might as well just stop at a Safeway to buy bagels.
3) You have to practically yell at an employee before they even acknowledge your presence. Unless you're an attractive, younger girl, and a guy is on shift, you just have to stand there while they pretend to go over inventory. But once they finally grace you with their presence, they are friendly and helpful.
Positive:
Their bread is decent. But MJ's and Simple Bread make Karsh's seem like a Wonder Bread outlet.
And I have no idea where previous reviewers have had their black and white cookies from in NYC, but Karsh's couldn't make a black and white to save their life. It's supposed to be a cookie, not a piece of overpriced cake.
