I always feel conflicted in this city when choosing what / where to see a movie because I feel like I need to support the small independent theatres in Toronto (although so many are disappearing.. tear) but last night I ventured to the AMC for a screening and I always forget how wonderful the theatre really is.
Once you make the trek up the 3 escalators, you are normally greeted with pretty happy people (a nice change from some of the other theatres in this city). I always head to the snack bar immediately which is where my disappointment lies. The AMC will not let you bring outside food into the theatre (fair enough) but then also don't have very good options apart from the usual Nacho / Popcorn options. They do now have pretzels which I tried last night and I highly suggest you avoid at all costs. DISGUSTING.
Once making your way into the theatre, the aisles are wide and the seats move to accommodate your comfort level. I appreciate both of these things.
They seem to get some of the better movies here so I tend to head there more often than not. Last night I saw an advance screening of the Muppets... Pretty fantastic BTW.
