| - Wish I could give delta no stars.
While planning a trip to Amsterdam I came across a great deal on tickets with Delta. Having heard some good things about their service, I went ahead and booked my tickets.
My way there, I flew out of Phoenix and had a layover in Atlanta. It was clear on both of these flights that the staff didn't want to be there. Constantly rude, giving short answers, and rolling their eyes every time they handed a drink or a snack to someone.
They way home was worse. I checked in at the Amsterdam airport and was informed that I had a standby ticket. Mind you I paid about $800 for my ticket home. After speaking with a rude customer service agent, who made me wait for her to finish her conversation with her friend about what color she was getting her nails done after her shift, I was informed that Delta over booked the flight by about 15 people and it was entirely random who got a standby ticket. I booked this specific flight, 6 months earlier, because I wanted to be home at that time so i could be at work the next morning. But the Delta representative assured me that if I couldn't get on the flight, they would compensate me, but could't tell me what i would be compensated after I asked if i would get my money back for the ticket since I would not be on the flight that I paid for specifically.
Worst customer service I have ever seen from a business, no organization and no communication. I realize it's standard procedure to overbook flights, but by 15 people?!
It's worth it to pay the couple hundred extra on international flights and fly British Airways.
Never again, Delta.
