  • Thoroughly impressed!! I travel a lot for work and hardly ever eat at the hotel. I decided to give it a try and wow, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. My thing is I like to try as many items as possible off the menu. Deseo offers wine flights- red or white. I tried the white, all South American wines and enjoyed each one, three different wines. The service was outstanding, starting with the host who was very friendly, my server was knowledgeable and took the time to explain several items on the menu and answer my questions. I sat at the rail and was asked if I was enjoying my dinner by no less than four other chefs in the kitchen- impressive. At my server's recommendation I ordered the lobster escabeche. It was wonderful, the lobster was cooked perfectly and served with a light, citrusy sauce typical of a ceviche, also with a fried avocado, which was a nice touch. I also tried the tartare which I order just about every place I go that has it on the menu. It was outstanding!! A lovely twist on tartare with a slightly spicy flavor, garlicky, and rolled in a yucca chip. I also tried the corn because I love street corn. It was not what I expected, but I was delighted! The kernels were huge, unlike any corn I've ever had before, and served in a bright, zesty, citrusy, only slightly buttery sauce, almost like soup. Very different. I enjoyed every moment of my experience at Deseo, even though I was dining alone on a business trip. It was the perfect amount of food, just a bit much, but the small plates enabled me to try more than one entree with wasting a ton of food. I would definitely eat here again when in Scottsdale.
