I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting Toronto, and the close location to downtown was a deciding factor. Aside from the close proximity to everything and the friendly staff I can't really say anything nice about this hotel: it's dated, the elevators are ridiculously slow, and the rate was twice the cost of what appeared online. The free breakfast is the typical garbage you'd expect from a free holiday in breakfast: powdered eggs, pancakes from a machine, and stale bagels. For $200 per night there has to be better places to stay in Toronto.
