  • We came in at 6 tonight, Sunday night, and the hostess said she couldn't give us a table because it was restaurant week, even though there were 14 empty available tables and only 6 tables with people eating. She said we had to sit at the bar if we didn't have a reservation. I said we only wanted a salad and would be finished in 30 minutes. We were led past empty tables for 2, for 4 and for 6 and seated at the completely empty bar. We shared a salad and were finished within a half hour and during that half hour only 4 people came in. On the way out, I asked the manager why we couldn't have been seated at a table, pointing out that we had only been there for 30 minutes and only 4 people had come in during that time leaving 80% of the tables empty and he said, and I quote, "I didn't want my staff to be overwhelmed so we couldn't offer you a table." The hostess said its restaurant week and they were expecting a lot of people. The manager said he didn't want his staff to be overwhelmed and meanwhile, the restaurant was basically empty. So, great management skills and planning. It's restaurant week and your staff can't handle serving 2 people a salad in an empty restaurant because they'll be overwhelmed? Never again.
