I don't sew or quilt or knit, and I'm not really all that crafty. But my mother is, and she's been talking about wanting to go here for years so I took her. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable There is a LOT of fabric to look at so we spent quite a lengthy time in there.
You cannot cut samples like other fabric stores I've been dragged to. Ahem ... I mean other stores I've willingly and happily gone to. They do allow you to take home some samples but you have to return them. The samples are basically books with sheet sized pages of fabrics. We took home a book however we felt bad about keeping it out for long so we returned it next day. This is slightly inconvenient since we wanted to see the fabrics in different natural lights over a few days to see how it would look in the room we would put it in. The plus side is since you're not taking home a swatch the size of a business card, you get a better idea of the print and how it will look. Be prepared: they photocopy your ID and take your credit card information if you do not return the books to them.
I would come back here again, only because my mother looks like a kid in a candy store and to me that was worth hours of sorting through different shades of blue fabrics.
