  • I imagine I would be rating this differently had I attended during a blistering hot Las Vegas summer. Fortunately for me and my concert buddy, Las Rageous was in April this year! Located in Downtown Las Vegas, right behind the fabulously classy Fremont Street Hotel & Casino known as The D (The owner of which also put a lot of money into this music festival. Go figure. Thanks, bro.), the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center is an outdoor venue that offers live music, grub vendors, merch tents, stiff drinks, and plenty of parking. Seriously, don't worry about parking. Take your pick. I highly recommend staying on Fremont Street if you're coming here for a show. Our parking was free with our two night stay at the Downtown Grand. Please be aware that Fremont Street is loud af though, and all the hotels down here have earplugs in the bedstands for a reason. Fremont Street doesn't go to bed until 2:30 am, and then cops, speeders, stumbling drunken hordes, and ambulances come out to serenade you to sleep. Las Rageous was a blast! Over the weekend we got to see loads of bands across the rock and metal genres, and most of the sets were great! A7X was a little disappointing, but as we were more excited about Godsmack and Breaking Benjamin, and both put on phenomenal shows, we considered this festival money well spent. Getting to check out Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Death Metal, Mastodon, and All That Remains for the first time was absolutely the best. I may not look like a headbanger, but I am. Every once in awhile I like to let my hair down. Las Rageous weekend was exhausting in the best possible way. I appreciated the presence of 32 ounce mixed drinks at $13 a pop. That was like 4 drinks in one. Fremont Street might be the only place in Las Vegas where you can buy things for a decent value. I had one each night and was sated. I will say that I think it is utter BS that water bottles are not allowed in. Dehydration happens fast when you're feeding your metal loving demons. I digress, this was a very good time and I would see a concert here again!
