  • The only reason I went here is that I had a Groupon. After getting a required, free consultation on changing my hair color by a level 5 stylist, I elected that I'd get better results if I do it myself. (I wanted to go from red to blonde, something I've done many, many times, by myself and in salons, and the stylist claimed that it wasn't possible to get the results I wanted. She told me it would be creamcicle orange. I tried to talk chemistry with her and she wasn't able to match my knowledge! She just looked at me blankly and changed the subject! So I went home and did it myself and got decent results). So I was left with this $50 groupon. I scheduled a spa pedicure ($60). Again, I usually do my toes myself, but I thought, maybe they'll do something I can't do myself? My nail tech was friendly, but very strange. What she said was hardly even audible. I took out my book to read and she kept interrupting me with small talk questions about my life. She was pleasant, and I was polite, but I had no desire to talk ... shouldn't my book have been a clue? I wanted to relax, not chit-chat about mundane bs. When she asked what I was doing later that day, I said I have an exterminator coming because I found a black widow web. She proceeded to tell me about her condo's cockroach infestation!!! I really strained to hear what she was saying, hoping for something good that I could relay to my friends, while trying to react politely, but she mumbled so much and spoke so quietly that after awhile I just started evesdropping on the bores next to me whose conversations rotated between diets and gorging at mediocre restaurants. My toes looked fine, but not as good as I can do them. Like, there was just paint on the top of the nails, not on the sides next to my skin? And the color selection was sparce and she didn't even offer me anything fancy ... like glitter ... anything. Yawn. She slathered all kinds of greasy things on my feet and legs, which did nothing more than make me slip-slide around in my sandals all afternoon. I really don't get the hype of this kind of thing. I don't see how this place is any better than a hole in the wall nail salon.
