  • 1) My initial experience with Las Vegas Mini going back two years wasn't impressive. They didn't take me seriously. I ended up buying from a private party in Burbank, CA. Maintained well. 2002 Mini Cooper S. Original owner. Nice color. 40,000 miles for $8,500. Mini's loss on that one. I was going out of my way. Just not getting any resolve from the sales department. 2) In another instance, the parts department manager is NOT hospitable. He tried talking over my head rather than working with me which was disrespectful. Fortunately, I knew which part I was looking for and had them order it in spite of the manager's poor attitude. Cost $25. Noticeably, he created the impression that I wasn't welcome based on his curt dialogue, disrespectful nonverbal behavior, and disrespectful tone. Customer service should never be that ridiculous. 3) Two years from having bought the vehicle, I took the car in to have the power steering lines serviced. That was a questionable experience with one particular Service Department staff named Kevin; whereby, I ended up asking for the manager because there was confusion about the bottom line cost for services and what they were telling me as far as additional work they said needed to be done. What he was telling me was confusing. And he was reluctant to provide explanation. Basically, they were trying to create urgency for additional repairs that didn't need to be addressed. What made me ask for the manager was the poor attitude over the phone by Kevin and the manner in which he was putting words in my mouth. He likes to argue. Upset the customer. Hang up on the customer. Then cover his ass with management. At least that was my experience. Ultimately, the service manager got involved and talked the situation down. It still wasn't a satisfying experience. I only had to ask for the manager 5x. Kevin crossed the line regarding unprofessionalism. And then tried obstructing my request to speak with the service manager. 4) I did go back into Las Vegas Mini since the last negative experience with Kevin in the service department. But this time I was only looking for a gas valve from the parts department. It was another lack luster experience. The person that helped me was unresponsive. It was like pulling teeth. The response from the person helping me in the parts department was inaccurate. Ultimately, he was trying to steer me towards the service department which I didn't need. He provided a bogus quote of $80 for a part that he admitted wasn't necessarily the correct part. I did eventually find the right part from www.minimania.com for $8. It took 20 minutes to install. I also noticed that while I was dealing with the parts department, Kevin from the service department was trying to make his presence known to me nonverbally in an hostile manner. He was leering at me. He even stood close in proximity to me attempting to provoke me by acting out. He was attempting to make me feel unwelcome in a place of business. I ignored him. Concluded the business that brought to Las Vegas Mini and was on my way. My assessment as a customer is that my experience(s) with Las Vegas Mini is not unique and that I would strongly recommend that customers in general exhaust their alternatives elsewhere before giving Las Vegas Mini their time and money.
