| - UPDATE:
I was contacted by the owner of this business after posting my experience with Race Day Mobile Detailing. I have the right business, my post is accurate and hope it helps others. Don't trust the 5 star reviews, they are likely fake (see end of this post). Have also found this is a non-accredited Better Business bureau business.
Be wary: $300 Carwash and Wax.
This is the one of the few reviews I have written on a business, but feel an obligation to let others know about my experience.
After putting off detailing my Porsche, I finally resorted to doing some research to find a business that has good reviews. I called the owner and explained I wanted a wash, clay-bar treatment, wax/sealant, and interior clean. For those that don't know clay bar is, it is rubbed on the paint to smooth it out before waxing and I do this twice a year. Mothers sells this on Amazon for $16. It only takes about 30 minutes to do the car before waxing. The owner knew what it was and said they use a superior product, and stopped using clay bar because "employees drop it and it causes scratches" If you drop it, you throw it out, and it's cheap anyway, I know that. But why would he hire people he cannot trust?
He quoted $300. I thought that was very high so asked for $250 and he held to $300. It would be done right and I could get other things done, right?.
What went wrong?
* When the employee showed up she said it would take about 2 hours and she does 4-5 jobs a day. I was confused how this detail could take so little time, I have done this hundreds of times and it always takes 5-6 hours. At that point I almost backed about, but was assured the job would be done as described to me.
* After the wash the employee immediately started to wax. I nicely asked why wax was going on when the paint was still rough and not treated with anything. She said that is another more expensive treatment. Really? I could not believe it, this was a $300 clean and wax? Now it made sense, they go from house to house collecting $300 for 2 hours work.
* I then took out some clay bar and within a minute did a spot on the hood and even the employee agreed the difference was huge; it was smooth- as it should be before waxing. She then called the owner, they deducted the price of my clay bar and agreed to use it. Lucky I had a new box! This should have been done to begin with for $300! This critical step took only about 30-45 minutes, but was then told by the employee they usually charge hundreds more for this type of treatment (they use NanoSkin which does essentially the same thing but it's easier to apply)
* The wheels were not cleaned, brake dust was left all over the inside of the rim. I had to ask for it to be done over again.
* Rear windows were not completely cleaned on the inside that I had to finish that job.
* Convertible top was left with white towel debris all over it that I had to clean off with tape.
* Driveway was left with big black brake dust spots on it, no clean up before leaving.
I had to sit there and guide the employee through the entire process because they originally intended to do a $300 wash and wax. I tipped the employee, I felt sorry for her that she was put in this position by the company.
I wasted my time and money on this. I wonder who wrote these reviews, I cannot be the only ripped-off customer.
PS
NOTE: I think the reviews are fake, why?
- no one mentions how much anything costs (except me!).
- the reviews are from all over the country and this business is in Phoenix!
- the reviewers have given tons of reviews for other businesses, and they are all 5 stars.
