Not for vegetarians!!!
Over all I actually do like the food here. The service is also great and for what amounts to an all you can eat buffet with the entertainment value of the food being stir fried right in front of you I would say it's reasonably priced.
The place appears to be vegetarian/vegan friendly. If you don't want meat just skip that section and move on to the veggies. If you tell them you are vegetarian they will clean the grill and make sure someone else's meal doesn't touch yours on the grill.
Vegetarian friendly, right?
Wrong!!!
Disclosure: I am not a vegetarian but I used to be.
While getting my bowl ready I noticed a big piece of raw meat (either chicken or pork) in the minced jalapeƱos. This really didn't phase me because I had raw meat in my dish to get cooked anyways so who cares.
Someone that is a strict vegetarian would definitely care. When I pointed this out to the guy that was stocking the ingredients he promptly plucked it out and went on about his business. The jalapeƱos weren't swapped out they just removed the raw meat. Again, as a meat eater this doesn't really effect me. As someone who was a very struck vegetarian (even vegan at one point) this is unacceptable. What's it matter if the take extra time to separate your food from the others if the veggies you selected are tainted with raw meat?
Obviously the knuckle dragging idiot that managed to drop it in there in the first place is the cause of all this and it makes me wonder what else might end up in your bowl but I don't think the worker handled it correctly once it was pointed out.
This isn't exclusively a problem here but any self serve all you can eat buffet. It just seems the average patron to these types of places is pretty ignorant when it comes to maintaining cleanliness and avoiding cross contamination so it does fall on the establishment to police this. I have yet to find one that actually does.
