The Ramada Plaza was fine for a 3-nights stay. The hotel itself is old, but it seems like the rooms and bathrooms have been recently updated. The staff never seemed friendly and outgoing, but they were very efficient and knew their way around Toronto. The elevator is slow and very small, but that's to be expected in an older building.
The rooms themselves had an interesting layout, you pretty much just opened the door into the bed and had to maneuver around the couches and table to move around the room. Room was cleaned very well daily, and the beds were comfortable enough. Walls are very thin and the noise from other rooms and from the hallway are easy to hear.
The hotel is right near Ryerson University, so there are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores that are either open 24-hours or fairly late right next door. The College TTC subway stop was about 4 blocks away, or the streetcar picked up right on Carlton and Jarvis.
The only real off-putting thing from this hotel was the house next door had a lot of strange people sleeping on mattresses on the porch at any given time of the day.
