| - Came back to Sapporo's for happy hour after a long time. This place has gone downhill.
Arrived around 5pm on a Wednesday night and the place was dead. Our waitress was friendly, but when we asked her for recommendations on sushi, appetizers and wine, she couldn't give them to us. She simply replied "everything here is good."
We ended up ordering the stuffed shrimp, shrimp tempura roll, tootsie roll and the tora tora roll (shrimp, tuna and salmon wrapped in cucumber, no rice).
Our waitress delivers our tora tora roll and doesn't explain what it is. It looked like a spicy tuna roll. So, we flag her down and ask her, what is this? And she looked at it for a second and said...that's your tora tora roll. Hmm....ok. It looks just like a spicy tuna roll and sure enough, it is. So, we flag her down again and tell her this is a spicy tuna roll. She quickly grabs the plate and runs to the sushi bar without saying anything. She returns with our tora tora roll, which looks nothing like a spicy tuna roll. How can you mix those two up? One is wrapped in rice, the other in cucumber. Our waitress had no knowledge of sushi, as evident by her lack of recommendations and difficulty recognizing the difference between a spicy tuna and tora tora rolls. Later, she came by and apologized and said, "I thought it looked funny." So then why did you try and pass off a $4 roll for a $13 roll to us?
So in conclusion, skip this place! It's not worth your time or money. Their sushi used to be delicious and it was just mediocre. They changed the happy hour menu so hardly anything is on it. The prices were too high especially for happy hour. And our waitress was a complete idiot.
