Turns out these guys are another in the pool of lying, bait and switch car dealers. Their commercial clearly states "get your ACTUAL downpayment first". I went online, found the vehicle I was interested in clicked on that vehicle and applied for financing. It came back with my "actual" downpayment. Of course in fine print it said "may be as low as this on select cars", but if I was applying for a certain vehicle, it seemed appropriate that THAT vehicle would be what the downpayment was for. I went to the dealership to look at the truck and first, I had to give them my ID......just to look.....and for some reason, all of my info again, even though they said they already had it. When I signed the consent for the credit check (which they already did online and even gave me my credit score), there was a line to sign to allow them to send telemarketing and text marketing and I didn't sign it. The salesman tried to force me to sign it saying "theres a gap in the application" if I don't sign it. After 20 minutes, the manager comes by and tells me he has a list of the downpayments for the cars. I told him I was only interested in the one vehicle, but of course he went through every car on the lot obviously to show me that there are some vehicles with that downpayment. The truck I wanted was 5 times the downpayment quoted and 60% of the total sales price. Im sure a ton of people with challenged credit or are excited to buy a car just follow their lead and are happy with whatever they get. Please reply if you had a similar experience. I am going to file reports with the BBB and any other agency that will listen. It is illegal to falsely advertise and their commcials are very clear when they say "apply online and get your ACTUAL downpayment." The whole premise of their commercial is to lead the consumer to believe that they will not get duped and roped into a bigger downpayment than they were quoted. I am actually considering filing a lawsuit for false advertising and wasting my time.
