  • Here is my very honest review on the Wheat Sheaf Tavern, in which we did our monthly Dinner with the Boys to watch the Leafs Game. I will start with the good. Their wings were actually really good, and had a decent selection of beers, no complaints. Now the bad... It was half-priced wings night as well, with one big catch that we apparently did not read/were aware of/were told; if you purchase the wings at half price, you are not eligible to bring them home, or as I like to call it, a load of BS and a poor business model. First and foremost, this caveat is written on one chalkboard "apparently" as soon as you walk in. This information is not conveyed anywhere else, not in their menu, nor was it relayed to us when inquiring about the wings special. I understand the reasoning to have such a policy in place, however to pull this shit on a group of guys who have been drinking for 3 hours there is a sure quick way to never see returning guests. Further to that, the Manager on duty who was working the bar, could not find 2-3 minutes to come over and talk to us, after we repeated asked to speak to him, such that we could rectify the issue. Instead, he sent different waiters over to tell us that we were shit out of luck, and had to pay full price. I realize it must be fairly comfortable behind that bar, however you are unfortunately a coward; it is not like we were going to bite. I was also told by the waiter that if we don't pay full price for the wings left over, the cops would be called.. smooth one. I will give it to our waitress however who tried everything in her power to make things better, so hats off to you. It is fair to say I will not be returning to this place, and would not suggest it to others. And a message to the waiter who gave us a hard time saying a YELP review will go nowhere, I guess we will see how far this review goes. Hopefully it was worth it for you. Thanks, Nick
