  • Mixed on Kindred. I've been 6 or 7 times and initially loved it, but feel the service quality and ambiance have decreased along with the increase in hype. Came with my parents to show off this place and of course had the slowest, most inattentive service I've had in NC and was a little embarrassed to keep telling my parents that this wasn't normal. One of the prior times I'd come the wait staff gave us a card congratulating us on a house purchase, for example. Menu options were the most limited in recent memory (no fish entree? Isn't there usually one?), cocktails are still fabulous and there are many dishes I still loved, but those have been on the menu (or similar) for the year I've been coming. Anyway, I know I'm in the minority here but I'll stick with hello, sailor until the hype for Kindred dies down a little.
