  • We are so lucky in the days of online shopping to have this gem in Madison. I decided to take up photography last year as a hobby when my kids all left the nest. I walked into the Camera Company on the far west side and met with Dave Anderson. I told him I had experience with iPhone photography and had a Canon from many many years ago but only used the auto settings and really had no idea what I was doing. That said I was committed to put some time in to learn. Dave recommended the Canon 80D to me saying that it was a camera a beginner could use but would have the ability to grow with me. He set me up with the body and asked me questions about what I was going to take pictures of and he helped me pick my first lens. Since that time I have taken a few Camera Company classes, gone to some of the free seminars, and been on a few really fun outings with the "other" Dave Fiala from the Eastside store. Every time I have been in for things like a Tri-Pod or a different lens, even memory cards (there are BIG difference) the staff at all three locations always ask me questions about things I haven't even considered before offering suggestions. Ive had my Camera now for a full year and it has grown with me and there are still more things to learn and master. I have a wonderful hobby that has me finding beauty all around me even in the most mundane places. I have found many supportive mentors and always have the wonderful staff at the Camera Company to help me with any road blocks to my learning curve. Thanks especially to Dave Anderson, Dave Fiala, and Keith for all your expert help this last year!
