I'm use to Hertz but came to Avis because it was the only location near my house that was open late in the day on a Saturday.
I went to pick up a car and thankfully had a coupon for a free double upgrade which got me a Mitsubishi Lancer. The car was okay I guess, if you over look the fact the rims looked like someone drove drunk all over every curb in Arizona. There were dents everywhere but the store marked my paperwork as no dents or markings on the page and didn't come out to inspect the car with me.
Thankfully I took pictures of my car, every angle of it. Not just pictures but I took video of every angle too incase I missed something in the pictures. And I saved the pictures on my computer instantly to make sure they were all time stamped.
Then when I dropped off the car I mentioned to them that they marked the paper that there were no dents or anything on the car when there were. They stated if it's golf ball size or smaller they don't count it and he left it like that. He never came outside with me to inspect the car or anything like other shops have done. But thankfully I'm a smart cookie who always covers herself because when I dropped the car off I made sure to take pictures of the mileage on the car, the gas tank being full, the seats all clean and no dirt because they charge you if it's dirty. I took pictures of every angle again and video to prove there were no new dents and scratches and then turned the keys in.
My butt is covered but because no one would check the car with me I'm really worried 6 months from now they'll try to pin some of the car damage on me. Not that they would get a dime cause like I said I took video and pics of every single angle but it really sucks I had to go to such lengths!
I honestly don't believe I'll be using this place again if my car breaks down. I'll try somewhere else and see if the experience is better and less stressful.
