| - This place oozes old-school charm without trying too hard--the coffee bar sits atop a row of old mailboxes, and an actual telephone booth hangs out nonchalantly in the corner. Top that off with a loft space with comfy chairs and a great selection of books, and you've got a great place to lose yourself for a few hours...or more! After a great Yelp event here, I had mentally bookmarked this place and when I found myself hungry in Carnegie, I stopped in with a friend for a sandwich. While service wasn't quick, it was certainly friendly, and they happily obliged my request to press my BLT panini-style--toasty, toasty deliciousness. For $8, you get a freshly made sandwich and side, and there's a pitcher of water around for those of us who don't forsake the tap. I'm not in Carnegie much, but I just might have to make it out there more often, especially with ample parking available for $0.25/hour (but bring quarters!)...beats Oakland prices any day!
